Siddipet, Aug. 31 -- Telangana BJP president N Ramchander Rao on Monday alleged that the Congress government's 'Bhu-Bharathi' land records system had caused greater hardship to farmers than the previous 'Dharani' system, particularly over the inclusion of lands in the 22A prohibited list.

Addressing a BJP protest in Siddipet along with MP Raghunandan Rao, he alleged that lakhs of acres in Malkajgiri, Chevella and Siddipet had been included in the 22A list, affecting nearly 50 lakh people across the state who were unable to sell, register or mortgage their properties.

Ramchander Rao alleged that the government had failed farmers despite its electoral promises, including enhanced Rythu Bharosa assistance and benefits for tenant farmers.
