Pune, June 7 -- Senior marathi poet and writer Bharati Pande was honored on Sunday with the Kavya Jeevan Gaurav Award by Rangat-Sangat Pratishthan.
The award conprising a citation, shawl, coconut, and a set of books, was presented by Dr. Shripal Sabnis. former president of the All India Marathi Literary Conference.
He said that Bharati Pande is not only an excellent translator but also a sensitive and thoughtful poet. She has translated a wide range of books representing diverse cultural streams. As a result, her literary works have acquired a liberal and broad outlook. "Even though her poetry is written in free verse, it possesses a distinct rhythm," said Dr. Sabnis.
Renowned writer and editor Mrunalini Chitale was the guest of honour. ...
