Bengaluru, April 13 -- Nearly Rs38,000 crore spent on Bengaluru's development in 2021-22 has no consolidated public visibility, raising sharp questions over transparency and accountability in India's tech capital, according to a discussion at The Bengaluru Debates.

The figure was highlighted during the third session of the quarterly dialogue series convened by the Bangalore International Centre (BIC) and Janaagraha (NGO), held on April 11. The session examined whether "radical transparency" in public expenditure could improve governance outcomes in the city.
