Bengaluru, July 17 -- Football fever has prompted Bengaluru to extend its nightlife, with city police permitting hotels, restaurants, pubs, bars and other food establishments to remain open till 3.30 am on the intervening night of July 19-20 to accommodate thousands of fans expected to watch the FIFA World Cup 2026 final live.
The special relaxation, granted for the summit clash between Spain and Argentina, is expected to trigger a late-night surge in business for the city's hospitality sector, which had sought an extension of operating hours to cater to football enthusiasts gathering at sports bars and restaurants across the city.
