Asansol, Aug. 31 -- The West Bengal government has planned to hand over all 13 state-run Employees' State Insurance (ESI) hospitals to the central government, informed state Labour Minister Arjun Singh.
The move aims to hand over complete operational control to the Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) to ensure better functioning and upgraded infrastructure.
Speaking exclusively to UNI on the sidelines of the East Zone Rifle Shooting Competition at the Asansol Rifle Club, Arjun Singh revealed that following the recent handover of the Asansol ESI Hospital for a new medical college, the state Labour Department is now preparing to transition the remaining 12 facilities.
