Kolkata, Sept. 1 -- West Bengal has recorded more than 4,000 dengue cases and seven deaths related to the virus so far this year, Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari said on Tuesday after chairing a high-level review meeting on vector-borne diseases and Ayushman Bharat.

The Dengue cases reported this year is about half the number reported during the corresponding period last year.
Adhikari said 148 dengue-positive patients were currently under treatment, while Kolkata, Howrah, North 24 Parganas, South 24 Parganas and Murshidabad had emerged as the state's five most dengue-prone districts based on cases reported during the past month and the current monsoon.
