Ranaghat (West Bengal), April 26 -- Promising a hardline administrative overhaul while simultaneously reaching out to the Matua community, union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday said that if voted to power in West Bengal, the BJP would set up a dedicated squad to curb cattle smuggling and organised criminal networks.
Addressing a packed rally in Nadia district's Ranaghat -an area with a significant Matua population and decisive electoral influence - Shah said the proposed enforcement mechanism would specifically target cattle smuggling, coal trafficking, and what he described as entrenched syndicate operations.
