Kolkata, June 8 -- The West Bengal government on Monday gave its general consent to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for conducting probes in the state.
The erstwhile Trinamool Congress government of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had withdrawn the general consent to the federal probe agency for carrying out investigation in the state.
According to an official notification issued by the Home and Hill Affairs Department, the new government reversed the TMC regime's decision by invoking section 6 of the Delhi Special Police establishment Act.
