Kolkata, June 6 -- The West Bengal government on Saturday dissolved the board of councillors at the Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation (BMC) and appointed the municipal commissioner of the civic body as its administrator, an official said.
According to an order issued by the Department of Municipal Affairs, tHe board in West Bengal's North 24-Parganas district has been dissolved under Section 60(1) of the West Bengal Municipal Corporation Act, 2006.
Earlier this week, the civic body's mayor Krishna Chakraborty quit from her post.
