Kolkata, June 4 -- The West Bengal government on Thursday formally started disbursing pending Dearness Relief (DR) for all pensioners.
A notification in this regard was issued by the state finance department at the state secretariat Nabanna on May 29.
It also said the disbursal of pending DR, on hold between 2008 to 2015, also started during the day.
According to the notification, in case of death of any retired employee or pensioner, the DR would be provided either to the person's nominee or the legal heirs.
The notification also said the names of the nominees would have to be registered with the respective department for seamless disbursal of the DR.
