Kolkata, June 26 -- West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Friday said the state had constituted a multi-agency committee headed by Additional Chief Secretary Rajesh Pandey to carry out a special audit of under-construction high-rise and commercial buildings, while also announcing a separate 90-day review of fire safety measures and lightning arresters in such structures.
Speaking at the PWD Tent in Kolkata's Maidan, Adhikari said the audit team had already been notified and included senior officials from several state departments along with experts from RITES and IIT Kharagpur.
