Kolkata, Sept. 1 -- West Bengal recorded less than half the dengue cases reported during the corresponding period last year, Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari said on Tuesday after reviewing the state's dengue situation.
According to figures presented by Adhikari, the state had recorded more than 7,600 dengue cases by this time last year, while the figure this year is around 4,000.
At present, 148 dengue-positive patients have been identified in the state.
"There is no reason to create panic or raise an alarm," Adhikari said, urging people not to spread fear over dengue or malaria.
