Siliguri, Sept. 8 -- West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Tuesday sanctioned Rs 354 crore for disaster management in the hills and directed the state disaster management department to release the amount to the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA).

Adhikari made the announcement while addressing the people of Kalimpong virtually from Uttarkanya in Siliguri. He was scheduled to travel to Kalimpong by helicopter, but his visit was cancelled because of bad weather conditions. He instead addressed the people virtually and also took part in an interactive session.
