Kolkata, June 19 -- : Two ground staff members were injured in a lightning strike at NSCBI Kolkata airport on Friday as heavy rain and thunderstorms battered the city and adjoining districts, disrupting normal life and affecting flight operations.
According to airport sources, the incident occurred while ground personnel were engaged in unloading cargo from an Emirates aircraft. A lightning strike during the operation left two employees injured. The injured workers were immediately provided medical assistance by airport authorities.
