Kolkata, July 12 -- A private tutor in Lake Town area of city has been arrested on charges of allegedly sexually assaulting a Class XII student at his residence, police said today.
The incident has sparked fresh concern over the safety of students in the city, with the victim's family alleging that the accused used the pretext of coaching to commit the crime.
According to police, the alleged incident took place about four days ago. The tutor had called the student to his home for lessons. The girl alleged in her complaint that the accused offered her a drink during the session. She claimed that she fell unconscious shortly after consuming it.
