Kolkata, July 17 -- Three people, including two school students, were killed and four others sustained critical injuries after a passenger train hit a school van and a bicycle at a level crossing gate near Karnasubarna station in West Bengal's Murshidabad district on Friday morning.
The accident occurred at a distance of about 48km from Katwa when the local train 53054 Nimtita-Katwa Passenger hit the school van carrying students to a private school at around 6.41 am.
An elderly resident on a bicycle was also killed after the local train collided with his vehicle at level crossing gate number 24A/2 in the Katwa-Azimganj section of the Howrah Division under Eastern Railway. As alleged by the eyewitnesses, the level crossing had been closed ...
