Purulia, June 11 -- After the massive brouhaha over men allegedly receiving funds earmarked for Lakhsmir Bhanda, a monthly financial assistance scheme for women given during the TMC regime, now Rs 3,000 under the new BJP government's Annapurna Yojona project has been transferred to a male's bank account in West Bengal's Purulia district.
The monthly Annapaurna Yojona, which was a part of the BJP's election promise, has been officially been implemented from this month. The Suvendu Adhikari-led BJP government took office on May 9, 2026.
