Tarakeswar, June 19 -- The heavy downpour that lashed this holy town in West Bengal's Hooghly district on Friday has adversely affected the ongoing work at the iconic 18th-century Shiva Temple here on the eve of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit.
The entire meeting venue at Bailigari Tarkeshwar is flooded, and the administration is trying its best to clear off the stagnant water at the meeting venue. Further heavy downpour may pose a big challenge for the administration, officals said.
The BJP leadership, however, believes that rain will not become an obstacle for lakhs of people who are preparing to participate in Modi's historic meeting and the celebration of West Bengal Foundation Day.
