Kolkata, Sept. 14 -- An Assistant Sub-Inspector of police was seriously injured after miscreants allegedly hurled bombs at a police team during a raid on a suspected gambling den at Kharera village under Salar police station in West Bengal's Murshidabad district on Sunday night.
The incident occurred last night when personnel from Salar police station conducted a raid at the alleged gambling den as part of an anti-crime operation.
Police sources said that the team had gone to the area to apprehend those allegedly involved in gambling activities.
According to preliminary information, trouble broke out when the police began making arrests.
