Siliguri, Sept. 24 -- Eleven-year-old specially-abled chess player Nishan Mondal from Siliguri, who has been selected to represent India at the 4th Asian Chess Championship for Players with Disabilities (Junior category) in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, from October 29 to November 8, is facing uncertainty over his participation as his passport is yet to be issued.
Nishan applied for his passport at the Siliguri Seva Kendra, but his verification has been scheduled for October 1. With the championship only weeks away, his family is worried that the delay could leave insufficient time to complete the visa and other travel formalities required for him to participate in the event.
