Kolkata, June 4 -- The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday conducted searches at the residence of former Trinamool Congress (TMC) MLA Saokat Molla in South 24-Parganas of West Bengal in connection with its probe into the Bhangar bomb blast case.

The blast had claimed one life ahead of the 2026 West Bengal Assembly elections.

A team of NIA officials reached Molla's residence at Jibantala in the early hours and launched a search operation.

Simultaneous searches were also carried out at the party office adjacent to his residence and at several locations linked to the former legislator and his family.
