Siliguri, July 7 -- As fresh spells of monsoon rain triggered landslides and disrupted traffic on National Highway-10, the lifeline connecting West Bengal's Siliguri city with Sikkim via Kalimpong, the Kalimpong district police have launched a dedicated mobile application to provide real-time updates on road conditions for commuters and tourists.
On Tuesday morning, the Sikkim Police Control Room reported a road blockade at 20th Mile on NH-10 following continuous rainfall. While traffic movement was affected, small vehicles were diverted through alternative routes via Swaney, Chirubotey and Duga.
