Siliguri, March 6 -- A brief controversy over property registration in Malda, triggered largely by a misunderstanding and amplified through social media, was swiftly resolved following the intervention of the district administration, sources said on Friday.
The confusion began on Thursday, after a junior advocate claimed on social media that the office of the District Sub-Registrar (DSR) had refused to register sale or purchase deeds of individuals whose names are currently under adjudication in the voter list during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
