Siliguri, Oct. 12 -- Small savings by school children from West Bengal's Malda district have turned into a heart-warming Durga Puja gift for those who work behind the scenes to keep their school running.
The initiative at Lalit Mohan Shyam Mohini Primary School in Malda town reflects a simple lesson taught to children: the joy of a festival becomes greater when it is shared with others.
On Monday, around 650 students, along with their teachers, came together to distribute new clothes among the school's midday meal cooks and helpers, cleaning staff and other needy people living nearby. Around 50 people, including children and elderly women, received the gifts.
