Siliguri, June 3 -- Seeking to revive the movement for a separate Kamtapur state and official recognition of the Kamtapur language, the newly reconstituted Kamtapur State Demand Council Democratic (KSDC-D) has announced plans to strengthen its organisation and intensify its democratic campaign around the twin demands.
Addressing a ress conference in Siliguri, leaders of the organisation said they would embark on a fresh organisational drive after restructuring the outfit in the wake of internal differences that had weakened the movement in recently.
It may be recalled that the Kamtapur State Demand Council was formed ahead of the 2026 Assembly elections and had fielded candidates in several constituencies across North Bengal. However, ide...
