Kolkata, June 24 -- The Kalighat faction of the Trinamool Congress has suffered another setback in the West Bengal Assembly, with none of its legislators finding a place in the newly constituted Business Advisory Committee (BAC), one of the House's most influential panels.
The development comes after the faction had already lost the posts of Leader of the Opposition and Chief Whip in the Assembly. The exclusion from the BAC is being viewed as a further indication of its diminishing influence within the legislature.
Besides BJP legislators, it includes Trinamool MLAs aligned with the Ritabrata faction, including Chief Whip Akhruzzaman, Biplab Mitra and Samir Kumar Jana. Invited members include Sandipan Saha and Javed Ahmed Khan. The commit...
