Kolkata, Aug. 10 -- The Murshidabad district police have busted an interstate motorcycle theft and smuggling racket allegedly involved in stealing motorcycles from different parts of West Bengal, altering their engine and chassis numbers and sending them to other states, Bangladesh and even Myanmar.

The Lalbagola police have so far recovered 17 stolen motorcycles and arrested two persons in connection with the racket.

Police said several other persons are suspected to be involved and searches are underway at multiple locations to track them down.
