Kolkata, June 17 -- Former Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) councillor Sushanta Ghosh was arrested from Puri in Odisha on Wednesday by the Special Task Force (STF) of the city Police in connection with multiple cases, including alleged extortion and corruption.
According to police sources, Ghosh, who represented Ward No. 108 of the KMC, had been absconding for several weeks after complaints were lodged against him. Investigators tracked him down following a joint operation conducted by the West Bengal and Odisha police.
