Kolkata, Sept. 11 -- Former Dum Dum Municipality vice-chairman Barun Natta, alias Banku, has been arrested along with two others in connection with allegations of extorting crores of rupees from a promoter, police said.
Natta and his alleged associates, Nayanashis Das, alias Johnny, and Sumanta Ghosh, alias Laltu, were arrested after the promoter approached the West Bengal Chief Minister's 'Janatar Darbar' and complained of alleged extortion and cheating in connection with a construction project.
A Barrackpore court on Friday remanded all three accused in police custody for 10 days.
