Asansol, June 1 -- The mother of a class six student, who died after drowning in his school swimming poll here in West Bengal, has lodged a written police complaint against the Principal and trainers alleging her son perished following gross negligence.

The victim, who was participating in a summer training camp organised by St. VincentHigh and Technicial School, died on May 28 morning following "gross negligence" in the swimming pool, according to the complaint.

A senior cop of Asansol Durgapur Police Commissionerate (ADPC) said there were only two trainers in the swimming pool and the number of students was high.
