Kolkata, Oct. 14 -- Anusua Saha, a civic volunteer arrested for allegedly harassing former West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee outside her Kalighat residence, was granted bail after being produced before the Alipore Court on Wednesday.
Kolkata Police Deputy Commissioner (South) Rahul De said the investigation was under way to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
"We are investigating the reason behind the civic volunteer's visit to Kalighat and the events that transpired outside the former Chief Minister's residence," he said.
According to Lalbazar sources, investigators are also examining the reasons behind Saha's prolonged absence from work.
