Midnapore, Sept. 26 -- A 32-year-old BJP worker was allegedly beaten to death with rods and sticks in broad daylight at a market in the Kotwali area of this town, the headquarters of the West Midnapore district, today.
CCTV footage captured the brutal assault that has triggered political tension in the district.
According to the police, the victim, Samsher Biswas, was having tea with his maternal uncle Zafar Biswas and two or three others atKadamtala market in Hatihalka under Midnapore Sadar when a group of men allegedly attacked them with rods, bamboo sticks and bricks.
