Krishnagar, Aug. 3 -- A man and his wife were killed after an apple-laden truck they were travelling in rammed into another truck on National Highway-12 near the Shantipur bypass in West Bengal's Nadia district on Monday morning, disrupting traffic along the busy highway.
According to police, the truck, bearing a Uttar Pradesh registration number, was transporting apples from Himachal Pradesh to Bongaon in North 24 Parganas. The couple, who were travelling in the vehicle, died on the spot after the truck spun out of control and crashed into another truck near the Bathna bridge on the Shantipur bypass.
