Kolkata, July 12 -- The faction led by Ritabrata Banerjee today claimed a major legal victory in the ongoing battle for control of the Trinamool Congress, asserting that an Alipore court has recognised the National Executive Committee (NWC) elected at the party's special session on June 22 as the only lawful body authorised to administer the organisation.
Addressing a press conference here, Ritabrata said the court had ruled that the National Executive Committee constituted at the special session held on June 22, "constitutes the only lawful executive body authorised to administer the activities of the Trinamul Congress".
