Los Angeles, Oct. 15 -- Leonardo DiCaprio's Appian Way Productions is set to bring the dramatic early life of horror legend Bela Lugosi to the big screen.
According to Deadline, the production banner, led by DiCaprio and Jennifer Davisson, has teamed up with producers Alex Cutler and Darryl Marshak to develop a biopic at Universal Pictures centered on Lugosi's rise to fame.
The screenplay is being written by celebrated screenwriters Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski, best known for their work on Tim Burton's Ed Wood, the 1994 cult classic that earned Martin Landau an Academy Award for his portrayal of Lugosi in the twilight of his life.
