Mumbai, July 31 -- A middle-aged photographer has been arrested for allegedly drowning his 10-year-old son at Gorai beach in Mumbai's western suburbs, allegedly driven by suspicions that his wife was involved in an extramarital affair, police said here on friday.
The accused, identified as Banti Rao, a resident of Malwani, allegedly committed the crime on the evening of July 28 after a heated argument with his wife at their residence.
According to the Gorai police, Rao (40) earned his livelihood by photographing tourists visiting Gorai beach. He left home with his son between 5 pm and 6 pm following the domestic dispute. Investigators alleged that he took the child to the seashore and drowned him in the sea.
