Hyderabad, July 25 -- The National BC Welfare Association on Saturday urged the Telangana government to restore the implementation of G.O. No. 550 for MBBS admissions, alleging that the present counselling process was adversely affecting students belonging to the Backward Classes (BC), Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST).
A delegation led by Rajya Sabha MP and National BC Welfare Association president R. Krishnaiah met Health Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha and sought withdrawal of G.O. No. 114, urging the government to conduct MBBS counselling under the provisions of G.O. No. 550, which, it said, had been followed for nearly 24 years.
