Hyderabad, April 13 -- Telangana State Backward Classes (BC) Commission Chairman G Niranjan has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to ensure that Backward Classes, particularly BC women, are not disadvantaged in the implementation of the Women's Reservation Bill and the ongoing population census process.
In a letter addressed to the Prime Minister on Monday, Niranjan said that while women's reservation is a historic step, the absence of specific provisions for BC women-despite their significant share in the population-raises serious concerns.
He also wrote separate letters to Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Leaders of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi, requesting the...
