Bengaluru, Aug. 7 -- Karnataka Legislative Council Chairman Basavaraj Horatti on Friday resigned from his post following discussions with Chief Minister D K Shivakumar and senior Congress leaders.
Horatti, who had expressed a desire to continue as Chairman, submitted his resignation after his efforts to retain the post failed. He met Chief Minister Shivakumar and Congress leader B K Hariprasad before handing over his resignation letter.
Speaking to reporters after the resignation, Horatti said Congress leaders had asked him to step down and he had complied with their direction.
