Kolkata, May 12 -- Two police personnel attached to West Bengal Police have been suspended following allegations of assaulting BJP candidate Bishwajit Pal in South 24-Parganas district after the declaration of Assembly election results.
The suspended officers are Baruipur police station IC Samar De and sub-inspector Sukumar Ruidas. The disciplinary action came after a complaint alleging that the BJP candidate from Baruipur West was physically assaulted by police personnel on May 5, a day after the election results were announced.
