Bareilly, Oct. 11 -- In a swift response to a late-night shooting incident in Bhouna Farm village under the Bahedi police station area, Bareilly police arrested the accused after an early morning encounter today.
The accused, identified as Jais Mohammad alias Badla, was shot in the leg during the exchange of fire and has been admitted to a hospital for treatment.
According to police reports, around 10:30 pm yesterday, a dispute broke out between Jais Mohammad and Gurunam Singh, following which Jais allegedly opened fire with a country-made pistol. Gurunam was hit in the upper abdomen and was rushed to the hospital, where he is now reported to be out of danger.
Following a complaint, Bahedi police registered a case and launched a manhunt....
