Nagpur, April 9 -- Maharashtra BJP leader Chandrashekhar Bawankule on Thursday said that the Congress party could witness the start of its political decline from Baramati if it does not step aside to facilitate an unopposed victory for Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar in the forthcoming assembly bypoll.

He remarked that the Congress' decision to remain in the fray for the Baramati seat would signal the beginning of its erosion in the constituency.

According to Bawankule, there is widespread public sentiment in Baramati and across Maharashtra in favour of Sunetra Pawar being elected unopposed.
