Hyderabad, Aug. 19 -- Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka on Wednesday called upon banks to become active partners in Telangana's goal of achieving a USD 1 trillion economy by 2034 and USD 3 trillion by 2047, stressing that credit must translate into higher farmer incomes, employment and investment.

Addressing the 50th State Level Bankers' Committee (SLBC) meeting at Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Praja Bhavan, he said banks should not merely measure performance through loan targets but assess the development impact of credit, including increased agricultural productivity, rural incomes, industries and jobs.
