Dhaka, March 28 -- Bangladesh's Minister of Information and Broadcasting Zahir Uddin Swapan has said that the ban on the telecast of the Indian Premier League (IPL), could be lifted subject to application.
Swapan was quoted by German broadcaster Deutsche Welle as saying that if any channel applies to telecast the IPL, the application will be considered.
"No one applied to us to telecast the IPL. We don't want to mix politics with sport. We will look at it from a commercial perspective, and if any channel applies to telecast the IPL, we will consider it positively," Swapan told the Broadcaster.
The 19th edition of the IPL would commence on Saturday and the final would be played on May 31 in Bengaluru.
