Dhaka, Aug. 19 -- Bangladesh State Minister for Health MA Muhit said on Wednesday that there was no scope for unrealistic assurances over managing the country's measles outbreak, warning that even doubling the vaccination rate would at least take another two to three months to bring the outbreak fully under control.

Speaking at a workshop on measles epidemiology and genomic surveillance at Bangladesh Shishu Hospital and Institute in Dhaka, Muhit said the government remained focused on reducing child deaths through expanded treatment support and stronger field-level surveillance during the period.
