New Delhi, Aug. 13 -- Bangladesh fast bowler Hasan Mahmud produced a career-best spell in Australia on the opening day of the first Test in Darwin, helping his side dismiss the hosts for 198 at Marrara Stadium on Wednesday.

Mahmud finished with impressive figures of 6/55 from 17 overs as Bangladesh's pace attack made the most of the conditions to put the ICC World Test Championship leaders under pressure.

The six-wicket haul was the third-best performance by a Bangladesh fast bowler in Test cricket. Only Shahadat Hossain, who took 6/27, and Ebadot Hossain, with 6/46, have better figures for the country.
