Dhaka, Sept. 10 -- Bangladesh State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humaiun Kobir said on Thursday that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will not be attending the upcoming BRICS summit as he had not been invited in his capacity as the premier.
However, there was a possibility of the country sending a government representative to the summit.
"How shall we go? Has anyone from the Bangladesh government been invited? Our prime minister was not invited. Who told you that our Prime Minister was invited? The BIMSTEC Chair was invited. Then why are you asking this question?" Kobir asked reporters at the Foreign Service Academy, ruling out Tarique Rahman's attendance at the summit.
