Dhaka, June 29 -- Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has pledged to implement the Teesta Barrage Master Plan "at any cost", declaring the proposed project a national priority aimed at resolving chronic water shortages and addressing a long-standing demand of its people in the north.

Speaking during the general discussion on the proposed FY2026-27 budget in Parliament on Monday, Rahman outlined the government's long-term plans for agriculture, water management, infrastructure, education, energy and the creative economy.
