Dhaka, May 15 -- Twelve more children died from measles and measles-like symptoms in Bangladesh in the past 24hrs according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), bringing the official death toll to 450. However, the toll is said to be likely higher than recorded due to massive underreporting of infections, particularly from areas located in the hinterlands.
During the same period, 1,192 patients with measles-like symptoms were admitted to hospitals across the country, with 111 cases laboratory confirmed as measles.
As per official data, over 74 children have died due to measles while over 377 have succumbed to measles-linked-symptoms.
