New Delhi/Dhaka, June 15 -- Bangladesh Prime Minister's Information Adviser Zahed Ur Rahman returned to Dhaka on Monday after being briefly stopped by immigration authorities at New Delhi airport in an incident that has drawn considerable attention, leading to bilateral tensions between Bangladesh and India.
Rahman arrived in Dhaka from Colombo on a SriLankan Airlines flight after leaving India without completing his scheduled visit.
According to Bangladeshi media reports, the advisor had travelled to India as part of an official delegation attending an Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) conference. During routine immigration checks at Delhi airport, his name was flagged, leading to his temporary detention for verification.
